Women in the club raise funds for local nonprofits, hold community events throughout the year and advocate for positive changes in the community. Nearly 500 brides are expected to attend this year’s showcase.Bridal showcase activities and events will run from noon to 5 p.m., and a bridal fashion show will take place at 3 p.m. New to this year’s showcase is a “Military Run for the Dress!” event. 

Members of the University of South Carolina’s chapter of the Association for Wedding Professionals International have organized the race to give brides with military connections a chance to take home a wedding gown. Applicants for the race must be registered in advance (Race for the Dress registration form) and must either be a currently engaged woman on active duty in the military or a woman engaged to an active duty military member.
