Competition for market share among oil companies is set to intensify with the floating of a tender for a fresh bulk supply contract to an independent thermal power plant. 

Thika Power Ltd, an independent power producer, is seeking suppliers for its thermal power plant, which is expected to start operations in October. Eligible firms are required to submit bids by February 8.
